"Serenity" came about as a request from a farm in Minnesota that rescues horses. I have no doubt that serenity is exactly what their rescues get to finally experience once they come here. One of their beloved horses passed away, and they wanted a scene with colorful horses and the deceased one pictured with glowing wings. Love it!
Animal rescue is dear to my heart and many of us know what it feels like to lose a furry family member. I was happy to finish the commission work and hopefully add some comfort to their loss.
This original painting is 8x10 on watercolor paper and is matted and framed to 11x14. The frame is patina metal in barn wood. The total size after framing is 14x17.
My glow works are a bit of magic and life in a product usually meant to only be enjoyed in the daylight. The glow painting shines the longest and brightest when charged by a UV light. The colors glow beautifully for awhile and then fade to a soft blue or green that lasts all night. A black light is included so that you can experience this painting to its fullest at any given moment.

I prefer to frame them without glass, but if you use glass, just make sure it is not UV resistant.
Sunshine will definitely charge the paint and allow it to glow all night. However, the black light brings out the colors better and brighter. I would keep the black light nearby to use for an extra dose of energy for the artwork.
Search for 'UV black light' on Amazon.com. And remember, not all black lights are UV lights. Make sure to choose a UV black light.
When a black light is used on it for a bit, the painting will glow bright for maybe 20 mintues and then fade, but it won't stop shining. It will continue to glow softly all night in shades of blue and green.
This can happen when it gets humid and the painting is left unframed. When you frame the painting, this will flatten it and keep it in place. However, you can also lightly mist the back of the painting and place a book on top of it. Give it a couple of hours to dry and lift the book. All flat again!
